Compassionate, culturally-affirming and trauma-informed therapy for couples and individuals

Let’s be real, most people don’t want to do therapy.
They do it because they’re stuck, they’re struggling, or they’re about to lose (or already lost) something important. They realize that what got them here won’t get them there. When you’re struggling to connect with your partner, your stress has become constant, or you don’t know how to show yourself the compassion you give to others, it might be time to try something else.
I help my clients reconnect to their emotions so they can listen to and learn from them rather than react to them. Rather than being guided by supposed to or should, you can develop a sense of self-trust and intuition to guide you in work and relationships.
While I specialize in working with relationship issues, anxiety or depression, and complex PTSD, I’m particularly passionate about working with couples and individuals from mixed cultural or ethnic backgrounds. I also work with a lot of LGBTQ+ folks who struggle with self acceptance and confidence. Most of all, I love working with clients who are highly motivated to learn and grow.
If you’re ready to take the first step on this journey, I encourage you to reach out today.
Hi, I’m Luisa.
I’m an Oakland-based couples and individual psychotherapist. I bring together traditional talk therapy with mindfulness and somatic practices to help clients reconnect with their authentic selves. Using compassion, insight, and humor, I’ll both support and challenge you on your journey.
